About IPL

Intense pulsed light (IPL) is used to treat skin conditions by beaming light and heat into the skin, which in turn treats various conditions such as discolouration.

The heat encourages the body to banish the targeted cells while boosting collagen production at the same time.

How Does It Work

IPL treatments begin with a cool gel applied to the target area, at which point a handheld laser device is pressed along the skin which sends light energy across it.

Treatments can be completed in around one hour, with little-to-no discomfort, and very minimal recovery time. Results are typically seen a week after the very first treatment.

This technology can help treat a wide variety of skin conditions and sun/age-related issues, making it one of the most handy treatments in rejuvenation health care.

FAQ

Have Questions? We Have Answers.

IPL can be used nearly anywhere on the human body, though many clients tend to focus on the neck, face, chest, forearms, hands and back areas.

Most clients report optimal results after 5 or 6 treatments. Afterwards, it is recommended to have one treatment done every 3 or 4 weeks to maintain results.

Clients are advised to avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks prior to treatment, as well as after treatment. Waxing, threading, bleaching or dying should also be avoided for three days prior and after treatment.

There is no downtime or recovery period required after an IPL treatment, but we advise avoiding hot water and heavy exercise for 24 hours, as well as hairspray for 48 hours. If avoiding direct sunlight is unavoidable, use SPF 45 sunscreen to protect your treated skin.
